My Story
Let Me Tell You More About Myself
I love stories. I always have. Whether I’m getting lost in a book or watching movies both old and new, I’ve always found joy in being transported somewhere else for a while. It’s the perfect way to step outside the everyday world—just long enough to breathe, imagine, and return changed. That same instinct to escape, explore, and dream has been with me since childhood. I’ve been writing for most of my life, collecting ideas in notebooks, files, and a rather overstuffed “tickler” folder filled with half-formed tales and strange little sparks of inspiration. For years, they stayed just that—ideas. I told myself it was better to be realistic, so I became a software developer and spent the next three decades writing in a different kind of language: programming languages.
But stories have a stubborn way of refusing to stay quiet, and it was my husband who finally convinced me to stop saving all my ideas for “someday” and start turning them into real, living stories. So, being the computer nerd that I proudly am, I bought a copy of Scrivener. It quickly became my writing tool of choice—part digital workshop, part idea vault, part magical portal where all the scattered pieces of a story finally come together. I never quit the day job, though; I write in my off hours, on my lunch breaks, or whenever my brain decides to hand me a scene out of nowhere. I also use Evernote—another tool I cannot live without—so no matter what device I have with me, I can write. Inspiration doesn’t wait for perfect timing, and now I don’t have to either.
As my fictional worlds grew, so did my commitment to sharing them. I chose the self-publishing path after weighing the pros and cons of traditional publishing. Will it prove to be the perfect choice or a grand adventure full of surprises? Only time will tell. But that uncertainty is part of the magic. I write because I love it—because stories make the world larger, stranger, and more beautiful. I wanted my worlds to find the readers who might need them, the same way I’ve always needed the stories that transported me.
Now I’m filling these pages with the tales that have waited patiently for their moment. My books weave Victorian history, gothic mystery, faery lore, and the deliciously uncanny threads that bind them together. I’m endlessly fascinated by haunted places, quiet magic, and the thin veil between what is seen and unseen. And I’m excited—truly excited—to see where this journey will take me next.
So welcome. Whether you’re here for fantasy, mystery, folklore, or simply the joy of a good escape, I’m delighted you’ve stopped by. There are many stories ahead, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
