Moonshine: An Eldritch Tale (The Eldritch Series Book 1): Unknown World and Prophecy Spoilers -Elizabeth has a gift of fae, but at a young age, she was treated so badly that she tried to ignore it. She got pretty good at ignoring it until she was married and had twins. After one is abducted and swapped for a changeling which only she can truly see as an old creature, she turns to her gift to understand what is happening. The characters are strong and determined with great backstories. The suspense and adventure come from every direction as she fights against doctors committing her to an asylum, queens that try to control, Sidhe warrior that searches for the truth of the death of his wife and more. She finds help in Titwell, her household brownie, who has written a journal that depicts her entire family history. You will be on the edge of your seat, wondering just what issue will drop next. The ending is in mid story, but this is good enough to warrant continuing for sure.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Moonshine: An Eldritch Tale (The Eldritch Series Book 1): Rescuing Euphemia Elizabeth Merkova has always had the Sight. Now she Elizabeth shivered when the freezing cold water was thrown over her again during questioning by the alienist her mother sent her to. Making no progress, the session ended until the next day. Labeled hysterical by her family, Elizabeth was sent to this sanitarium for young women and children. It was a private house with modified showers and bathing facilities. Treatments included submerging a patient in cold water to bring her back to her senses or forcing the patient to stand under freezing running water in her bathing costume, which is the treatment Elizabeth was enduring. This would continue until she was shivering uncontrollably -- often until she fainted. So she learned never to talk about the Faerie, even though they were always nearby. Now married and a new mother, when Elizabeth's infant daughter Euphemia is abducted and a changeling is left in her place, she's forced to think again about her connection to the Fae. Although she could never imagine the prophecies at the center of her child's abduction, she's determined to get her daughter back before it's too late.Rhys Bryhana is a Sidhe warrior whose family was murdered by humans. Rhys has been bitter and broken for centuries. But when he encounters Elizabeth, he's one of the few who knows enough about the Sidhe queens and the prophecies to help Elizabeth save her daughter. With war igniting and alliances failing, all of Sidhe could be undone by the faerie prophecies. Do the prophecies point to her abducted daughter? Will she and Rhys be able to get her daughter back before she is harmed?

Moonshine, the captivating debut from Robin Trent, is a fantastical new vision of the Sidhe, where redcaps rebel and brownies are reluctant messengers, at a crossroads that will determine the fate of faeries and humans alike.

Elizabeth Merkova has always had the Sight. But after her mother forced alienists on her, she learned to keep quiet about the faerie. Now married and a new mother of twin girls, she’s finally found happiness and doesn’t make much of the faeries that occasionally catch her eye. But even though she’s chosen to overlook them, the faeries are never far away.

When Elizabeth’s infant daughter is abducted and a changeling is left in her place, she’s forced to reconsider her connection to the faery. And while she could never imagine the prophecies at the center of her child’s abduction or the faerie’s epic battle for dominance, she’s determined to get her daughter back before it’s too late.

In Rhys Bryhana, Elizabeth has an unlikely champion. A Sidhe warrior whose family was murdered by humans, he’s been bitter and broken for centuries. But as his path collides with Elizabeth’s, he’s one of the few who knows enough about the Sidhe queens and the prophecies to help Elizabeth save her daughter.

As Elizabeth’s search reveals the crumbling boundary between humans and faeries, a war ignites between otherworldly forces. With the old ways no longer sacred, alliances will falter, treachery will flourish, and all of Sidhe could be undone by the faerie prophecies. . .
